Elaine Greene, one ot the three Freeport Flag Ladies from Maine, talks with Carolyn Hutcheson, In Focus host, about their patriotic project to wave flags every Tuesday for eighteen years, in honor of the victims of the World Trade Center attack. The ladies served military personnel and their families with care packages, visits to greet them at the airport, visits to wounded troops, and attendance at funerals. Upon their “2019 retirement,” due to age and infirmity, Wreaths Across America picked up their cause for 9/11 and the laying of wreaths at cemeteries across the country on Dec. 19, to honor our fallen heroes. The Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo will participate on Dec. 19, 2021.
