Reverend Joseph Rembert remembers Rosa Parks on Rosa Parks Day. Now retired from the ministry, he serves as a tour guide at the Troy University Rosa Parks Museum at 252 Montgomery St. in Montgomery. Reverend Rembert shares with In Focus host Carolyn Hutcheson special moments from his decades of friendship with Rosa Parks, who was a member of his St. Paul AME church.

Meredith “Sunny” Eberhart made history in November of 2021 as the oldest hiker (age 83) to complete the Appalachian Trail.  We talked with the retired optometrist at Flagg Mountain, where he serves as caretaker for the Alabama Forestry Commission’s Weogufka State Forest.  His welcome home party took place Nov. 21st, when Governor Kay Ivey sent a proclamation commending his achievement.  His trail name is Nimblewill Nomad, in honor of his previous residence in Nimblewill, Ga., near Springer
Mountain, where the Appalachian Trail begins.
