Making Waves with Award-Winning Editor-in-Chief Emily Mosier

As a Troy University student, Emily Mosier worked as a producer for TROY Public Radio, served as the editor-in-chief for The Tropolitan newspaper and a reporter for TROY TrojanVision News. This fall, she’s heading to the University of Arizona to study investigative journalism at the Cronkite School of Journalism.  

She has received numerous awards for her reporting, filed multiple stories for NPR’s Hourly Newscast, and reported a series of investigative articles for The Tropolitan.

A Requiem for Water

Reena Esmail is the Los Angeles Master Chorale’s 2020-2025 Swan Family Artist in Residence, and was Seattle Symphony’s 2020-21 Composer-in-Residence. She also holds awards/fellowships from United States Artists, the S&R Foundation, the American Academy of Arts and Letters, and the Kennedy Center.

Giselle Wyers (she/her/hers) is the Donald E. Petersen Endowed Professor of Choral Music at the University of Washington, where she conducts the award-winning University Chorale and teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in choral conducting and music education.

Wyers is a leading national figure in the application of Laban movement theory for conductors. She has served as guest lecturer in conducting at Sweden’s Örebro Universitet, European Festival of Church Music (Germany), Latvian Academy of Music, Eastman School of Music, Ithaca College, Westminster Choir College, University of Iowa, Hobart and William Smith Colleges and Portland State University.

Grace and Beauty

John Rommereim is a musician who has pursued a varied career as a composer, conductor, keyboardist, and professor. He has written works for choir, solo voice, orchestra, string quartet, saxophone quartet, flute ensemble, guitar, organ, piano, and electronic media, as well as a chamber opera, and music for theatre and film. The New York Times praised the “richly expressive” character of his vocal writing.

John Rommereim is Blanche Johnson Professor of Music at Grinnell College, where he conducts the Grinnell Singers and the Grinnell Oratorio Society, and teaches composition.

‘Get Cart Jacked’ & Troy University PD Back on Campus

For the new Trojan social media series, “Get Cart Jacked – Hop in with Hawkins,”  Chancellor Jack Hawkins Jr. drives out onto the Troy campus grounds in a golf cart to ask students if they want to catch a ride to their classes.

And, Troy University Police Department (TUPD) headquarters are officially back on campus grounds after nearly five years!
