SGA discusses jam-packed calendar, including Trojan Pride Week

TROY, Ala. (TROJANVISION) — During its latest meeting, Troy University’s Student Government Association (SGA) discussed upcoming campus events, including a new event called Trojan Pride Week.

“This is our first year ever doing Trojan Pride Week,” said Ava Carnazza, SGA President. “Our newly-elected Mr. and Mrs. Trojan Pride came up with the idea so students would have an opportunity to express their Trojan pride and their love for Troy University.”

Trojan Pride Week will begin Monday, Feb.13th to Friday, Feb. 17. Students will be able to participate in an event every day of the week.

“Some of the events that we have planned for Trojan Pride Week is there’s going to be a community service day, a student leadership panel with different student leaders on campus,” explained Carnazza. “If anybody has questions, they can ask them about their time at Troy and how they’ve expressed their Trojan Pride. Tuesday will be Valentine’s Day so we are going to write love letters to TROY. There’s going to be a TC table set up. People working that and and people can come by and write down what they love about TROY.”

Another event that was discussed was Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Week, also known as DEI Week. In addition, the SGA plans to hold a Black History Month event.
