TROY, Ala. (TROJANVISION) — Beginning a new semester can be stressful for students, which is why Troy University works to provide study tips and resources.
You bought all of your books in school supplies and thought that you were prepared for the beginning of the school year. However, a couple of weeks into the semester the schoolwork is starting to pile up and you may feel overwhelmed.
If this is you, you’re not alone. Troy University offers a Learning Center to help you out.
“Come set up an account with the Troy Campus Learning Center,” said Learning Center Coordinator Rebecca Money Normans. “We have tutors here who can give study tips.”
Tutors are trained to give students the assistance they need in order to succeed.
“Students will come in and give descriptions of their assignments and we just help them with whatever they need help with the most,” explained writing tutor Brittany Wyatt.
The center encourages students to develop proactive learning strategies.
“Get a reading strategy first because you need to read in order to get the information and be able to process it,” Money Normans said. “Don’t forget to ask follow-up questions.”
