TROY, Ala. (TROJANVISION<\/a>) \u2014 From posters to presentations, Troy’s College of Science and Engineering<\/a> is showing off its students’ work. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trojan Research Week is a university-wide conference that allows students and faculty to present their research efforts done throughout the year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“These students have been working hard along with their faculty mentors, who’ve put in a great bit of time, effort and energy into training our students,” said Dr. Govind Menon, Dean of the College of Science and Engineering. “Students, conversely have worked very hard to learn.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From Marine Biology to GIS, many fields of study were represented. Student researchers Evelyn Carroll and Grayson Bogue were part of this year’s research week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I think that a lot of the time the healthcare field is not exactly shed a lot of light on and a lot of people don’t know about all the scientific advancements that we have,” Bogue said. “I think research day is a great way to involve other people in what we’re working on.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Carroll further explained that it’s the student’s responsibility to get into the field and start doing research.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“These professors don’t have the time to talk to every student individually, so if you want to do research, email these professors, get involved, come to events like this and then the sky’s the limit. You can do anything you want here.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
