TROY, Ala. (TROJANVISION<\/a>) \u2014 Beach balls, tents, and burgers were just some of what students enjoyed at this year\u2019s Hall School of Journalism and Communication<\/a> (HSJC) summer\u00a0send-off.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The gathering was inspired by the annual kickball game between the\u00a0Tropolitan<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0TrojanVision<\/a>, but expanded to include more students across the program. Director of the Hall School of Journalism and Communication Dr. Robbyn Taylor said\u00a0the goal\u00a0of the send-off\u00a0is to bring everyone together.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOur student media groups have an annual softball or kickball game, and that\u2019s really fun for\u00a0them,\u00a0but it doesn\u2019t involve all of our students,\u201d Taylor said.\u00a0\u201cThis was a way we could get together and reflect on the year and send everybody off into the summer with the thoughts of well wishes.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Maguire Babbs is a business major but has become friends with many of TrojanVision\u2019s crew members. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt\u2019s very interesting, how much actually goes into it behind the scenes of the news,\u201d Babbs said. \u201cAs someone who had never seen anything like that, you think there\u2019s a lot that goes into it, but it\u2019s a lot more than you\u2019ll ever expect. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a fun group of people to be around, seem them work and hang out.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event also served as a farewell for graduating seniors. Taylor shared a message of encouragement as graduates prepare for what\u2019s next. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYou\u2019ve made us so proud already,\u201d Taylor said. \u201cI can\u2019t imagine what your parents must feel like as you\u2019re crossing the stage. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe\u2019re\u00a0excited to watch you go off to do your next step, whether that\u2019s\u00a0grad\u00a0school or going straight into your industries.\u00a0We\u2019re\u00a0ready to cheer you on and support you.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
