Troy University senior Sierra Champion uses her space in TROY’s IDEA Bank to help spread the word about SHORT the Squirrel, the cartoon mascot for a statewide literacy campaign in Alabama. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Troy University’s IDEA Bank located in the Small Business Development Center in downtown Troy offers student entrepreneurs a chance to develop their business ideas. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Champion has an office in the IDEA Bank that allows her to handle the day to day operations of the SHORT the Squirrel program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It serves as an internship for the senior but it will turn into a full time job as she begins to pursue her Master’s degree. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Two alumni from Troy University actually reached out to me in August of 2020 asking to help out in some sort of way and so I’m a senior in college and this is serving as an internship for me,” says Champion. “Recently we have brought SHORT the Squirrel to the IDEA Bank which is a student entrepreneurship program here at Troy University.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
