TROY, Ala (TROJANVISION<\/a>) \u2014 For over a decade,\u00a0Christian\u00a0Mission Center<\/a>‘s services have not been open in Pike County. Now,\u00a0they\u2019re\u00a0opening a store right here in Troy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Christian Mission is a nonprofit organization that helps people with emergency needs in South Alabama. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

With locations in\u00a0Enterprise, Elba\u00a0and Geneva,\u00a0the Troy location aims\u00a0to help\u00a0even more people in the Wiregrass.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“It was such a blessing and joy to have a board that supported our request to find a store, purchase it and open back here in Troy so we can offer that resistance,” said Amanda Simmons, Executive Director of Christian Mission Centers, Inc. <\/p>\n\n\n

Bargain\u00a0stores not only\u00a0sell items at a\u00a0discount,\u00a0but they\u00a0also function as a gateway to\u00a0ministries and\u00a0services.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Those services include shelters, a recovery program and an emergency assistance program called Benevolence.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Pretty much any emergency situation you can imagine, we can assist with,” said Simmons. “Whether that\u2019s rental, utility assistance, medication, gas, furniture, or clothing.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Christian Mission will have its ribbon-cutting ceremony and grand opening on July 30 at 11:30 a.m.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We\u2019ll\u00a0have some door prizes and some special sales going on,” Simmons told TrojanVision. “We\u2019re\u00a0excited about it.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
