Every day Troy University students walk past a building named for civil rights leader John Lewis and a few give their thoughts on what he means to them and their right to vote.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“John Lewis influenced a lot of African-Americans to be able to vote in today’s time,” says Kendrez White, Troy University senior. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
During an election year students reflect on the importance of being able to vote and what that means historically.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Before people weren’t allowed to vote. Certain people of color or women even,” says TROY student Jasmine Jones. ” I think every time you vote. You are using that right that we all have and I think it is very important to make your voice heard.” <\/p>\n\n\n\n
