Monday morning in Trojan Center, Chi Omega sorority started off their philanthropy week benefiting Make-A-Wish with a fundraising effort that had students making a wish upon a star.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Today we kicked off our Wish Week, says Chi Omega Director of Programming Maggie Rodopoulos. “Basically what that means is the entire week we’re raising money for our philanthropy which is the Make-A-Wish Foundation and that’s a non-profit organization that helps children with critical illnesses but last year we actually were able to grant two wishes which equates to $20,000 which was the most we’ve ever raised before so we’re hoping to maybe do that again this year or maybe exceed that amount.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
For the first day of Wish Week the sisters were raising money from raffle tickets, stickers and even signatures. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Anyone that comes and donates any money they can sign their name on a star and put it next to an organization or if they’re independent,” says Chi Omega Member Kaitlyn Sampson. “It just shows people how many people are really interested in donating to a cause like Big Wish.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
