{"id":259,"date":"2020-11-17T16:07:59","date_gmt":"2020-11-17T16:07:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/today.troy.edu\/trojanvision\/?p=259"},"modified":"2020-11-17T16:38:48","modified_gmt":"2020-11-17T16:38:48","slug":"john-robert-lewis-hall-officially-dedicated-on-troy-university-campus","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/today.troy.edu\/trojanvision\/archive\/news\/john-robert-lewis-hall-officially-dedicated-on-troy-university-campus\/","title":{"rendered":"John Robert Lewis Hall officially dedicated on Troy University campus."},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The name of John Robert Lewis is now officially a part of the Troy University campus. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"http:\/\/troy.edu\">Troy University<\/a> held a dedication ceremony bestowing Lewis&#8217; name on one of the most prominent buildings on campus Friday morning. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.troy.edu\/about-us\/leadership\/board-trustees\/index.html\">Troy University&#8217;s Board of Trustees <\/a>voted to name the building in <a href=\"https:\/\/today.troy.edu\/news\/troy-university-to-name-building-after-congressman-john-lewis\/\">Lewis&#8217; honor back in August.<\/a> Trojan Arena was the first site of Lewis&#8217; memorial services after his passing in July.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Lewis was a native of Pike County and was once refused admission into the university based on the color of his skin.
