{"id":2781,"date":"2022-04-12T15:14:46","date_gmt":"2022-04-12T15:14:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/today.troy.edu\/trojanvision\/?p=2781"},"modified":"2022-04-12T15:14:50","modified_gmt":"2022-04-12T15:14:50","slug":"troy-universitys-international-art-center-celebrates-faculty-art-show","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/today.troy.edu\/trojanvision\/2022\/04\/12\/troy-universitys-international-art-center-celebrates-faculty-art-show\/","title":{"rendered":"Troy University&#8217;s International Art Center celebrates faculty art show"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"http:\/\/troy.edu\">Troy University<\/a> celebrated the artwork of faculty members at a reception held at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.troy.edu\/student-life-resources\/arts-culture\/international-arts-center\/\">International Arts Center<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The faculty art show entitled &#8220;A Walk in The Forest&#8221; was displayed in the IAC featuring artwork created by the university&#8217;s own art and design professors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Interim Chair of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.troy.edu\/academics\/colleges-schools\/college-communication-fine-arts\/departments\/art-design\/\">Department of Art and Design<\/a> Greg Skaggs enlisted the help of students to support their teachers show.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;All the publicity and all the marketing was actually created by students,&#8221; says Skaggs. &#8220;So they developed I don&#8217;t know five, six, seven, eight titles and then I chose one.&#8221; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">All of the pieces on display are original creations ranging from acrylic on canvas to photography, sculptures and even digital media.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The artwork is on display to give professors a chance to show off their talents to their students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;Well it&#8217;s actually highlighting all of our faculty members or almost all of our faculty members that get to showcase a little bit of their artwork,&#8221; says Art and Design Professor Kelly Berwager. &#8220;You know I think students don&#8217;t see us as producers of art so it&#8217;s kind of cool that they get to see us as artists.
