When Troy University<\/a> announced the new Master’s of Business Administration in Music Industry Program<\/a>, the school also unveiled a major new component to the Music Industry Program<\/a>, a state-of-the-art recording studio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“This room, we are thrilled to say, is a state-of-the-art mixing and mastering facility right here on the campus of Troy University,” says Coordinator of the Music Industry Program Robert W. Smith. “Our Music Industry Program has been in existence for 16 years and we finally have state of the art facility right here on our campus.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Smith says that the studio was designed and equipped to match the level of technology in professional studios around the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“When you’re inside this acoustically treated room, we’re actually a room within a room,” says Smith. “The walls are floated, the floors are floated, state-of-the-art equipment. We shut that door, the rest of the world goes away and we could be sitting anywhere in the world. We could be sitting in a studio in New York, Nashville, Los Angeles and with our new Dante networking technology we will be sitting in studios around the world in real time recording from this room.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the first students in the new music industry MBA program, Rock and Roll Hall of Famer and long-time producer, Chris Vrenna knows his way around a recording studio and is impressed with Troy’s facility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I’m pretty jealous,” says Vrenna. “I gotta admit they spared no expense on this room. The equipment in here, I am familiar with just about every single piece in here. I either have used it or own it. This is about as high-end state-of-the-art as it can get in this modern age.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
