{"id":3504,"date":"2022-10-21T20:15:38","date_gmt":"2022-10-21T20:15:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/today.troy.edu\/trojanvision\/?p=3504"},"modified":"2022-10-21T20:16:22","modified_gmt":"2022-10-21T20:16:22","slug":"troy-university-police-offers-ticket-amnesty-to-help-fill-student-food-pantry","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/today.troy.edu\/trojanvision\/2022\/10\/21\/troy-university-police-offers-ticket-amnesty-to-help-fill-student-food-pantry\/","title":{"rendered":"Troy University Police offers &#8220;Ticket Amnesty&#8221; to help fill student food pantry"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"http:\/\/troy.edu\">Troy University<\/a> students had the chance to get some ticket relief by making donations to the food pantry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It was part of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.troy.edu\/student-life-resources\/student-resources\/campus-safety\/\">University Police Department&#8217;s<\/a> Ticket Amnesty Day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;The kids can bring twelve dollars worth of food we&#8217;ll take off a twenty-five dollar ticket,&#8221; says University Police Officer Rachel Farmer. &#8220;Just trying to meet half of their ticket value with food items to refill the food pantry so that our other students that are here that are having a hard time can go to the pantry and get things that they might need throughout their time here at Troy University.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Even though students are getting something in return, University Police say they have been surprised by the generosity they have seen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;Actually it&#8217;s been amazing,&#8221; says Farmer. &#8220;I think that we are up to 53 tickets that have been taken off and the food items have just been immense.
