In honor of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Jan. 18, 2021, TROY\u00a0TrojanVision\u00a0has planned a special day of programming commemorating important moments and people in the history of the civil rights movement in America.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At 11:30 Monday morning, TROY TrojanVision will air TROY and the City of Troy\u2019s 18th annual Leadership Conference.  The keynote speaker is Dr.\u2014and now U. S. Senator\u2014 Raphael Warnock.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following this at 12:30 p.m. we\u2019ll have the opening keynote address of the 17th annual Leadership Conference, featuring the late Congressman John Robert Lewis.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

These Programs will repeat at 5 and 6 p.m. respectively.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

At 7:30 p.m., watch the John Robert Lewis Hall Dedication, an event of Nov. 13, 2020.  Lewis, a civil rights icon, served in the U.S. Congress from 1987 until his death in July of 2020. Just a month after his death, Troy University\u2019s Board of Trustees voted unanimously to rename the oldest building on the TROY campus, formerly bearing the name of Alabama Gov. Bibb Graves, in Lewis\u2019 honor.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

At 8:30 p.m., TrojanVision will air the 2017 Hall School of Journalism and Communication\u2019s M. Stanton Evans Symposium on Money, Politics and the Media. The speaker at this symposium is Southern Poverty Law Center founder Morris Dees, who presents \u201cWith Justice for All in a Changing America.\u201d  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finally, at 10 p.m., we present John Lewis Day, a program of celebration on the naming of a day in Lewis\u2019 honor in the City of Troy.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n
