The International Arts Center’s “Faces of Vietnam” exhibit closed on January 24th but not before a series of personal tours from the man responsible for bring the art to Troy, Stephen Humphreys. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The exhibit was made up of a wide collection of post-war art by some of the most famous artists of Vietnam that were part of Humphrey’s art collection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Before the exhibit came down Humphreys visited the IAC to give personal guided tours of the work he loaned to the center. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
“The kind of central theme is the emerging identity of Vietnam as it emerges from these literal centuries of isolation that culminated,” says Humphreys. “It’s kind of the emerging sense of Vietnamese identity as they try to relate to the rest of the world but keep their own identity and traditions.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
