(<a href=\"https:\/\/today.troy.edu\/trojanvision\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">TROJANVISION<\/a>) \u2014 Troy University now has its very own Director of Football Operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Recently, <a href=\"https:\/\/troytrojans.com\/staff-directory\/ian-grier\/304\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Ian Grier<\/a> was named as Troy University&#8217;s Director of Football Operations. Grier has worked for the University&#8217;s football program for over a decade. He started in 2012 and worked his way up the ranks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;I took over as a graduate assistant for football in 2014 and then I took over as the full-time equipment manager in 2016,&#8221; Grier explained. &#8220;Developed that position into what was a Director of Equipment Operations in 2018-19. Now I&#8217;ve made the step to football operations.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During his time at TROY, Grier has seen the football program get a new building, go through five different coaches, and watch the Trojans win three Championships wins.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;The coaches, the administration, everybody&#8217;s been great. I know the fan base too, it&#8217;s huge, so it&#8217;s been really cool to see and be a part of. It&#8217;s going to only continue to get better in the future.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Grier has one piece of advice for students that want to work in the sports world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;The more experience you get, the better off you&#8217;re going to be. When people look at that resume and see that you&#8217;re involved with a FBS football program or a D1 baseball program, they see what you do day to day for two or three years. You&#8217;re stepping out ahead of a lot of other people that don&#8217;t take that chance.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Grier received his bachelor\u2019s degree in sport and fitness management from Troy University. He and his wife, Rachel, have two daughters.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>TROY, Ala.
