TROY, Ala. (TROJANVISION<\/a>) \u2014 TROY’s Men’s Tennis<\/a> took on the West Alabama Tigers earlier this week. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Troy (5-0) won the doubles point for the fifth time in five matches this season thanks to courts one and three. Luciano Alcocer and Yeray Andres Pastor won 6-4 on court one, while Noah Martens and Benjamin Ambrosio clinched the point for the Trojans with a 6-3 win on court three; the Trojans improved to 19-1 the last two seasons when winning the doubles point.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pastor remained unbeaten (4-0) this spring with quick work on court five, where he dropped just two games in his two-set victory. Ambrosio won for the second straight time with a 6-2, 7-6 (1) victory on court four and Carles Anton clinched the win for Troy with an unconventional win on court two. Anton dropped the opening set 6-1 but rallied back to win the next two sets, losing just three games in the process (6-2, 6-1).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mario Martinez Serrano continued his dominance on the top court, winning 6-2, 7-5 to move to 5-0 on the year and 25-3 in his career during dual matches, while Vicente Arbelaez moved to 3-0 on the year with a 6-2, 7-5 win on court six.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Troy hits the road for a pair of matches this weekend with trips to Alabama State (Saturday) and Samford (Sunday).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
