(<a href=\"https:\/\/today.troy.edu\/trojanvision\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">TROJANVISION<\/a>) \u2014 In January, Troy University\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/trojanoutreach?__cft__[0]=AZVZw7o1kNz_eyWZpw32L7jfVSgAltHjBvdnz2FnFFBn5JK_hEuYSE-2AGHB15pctHIV4DDnoVWk1tP4PI7ZMW3wNGwOANy5zKpsDc0PoTNKtpTzpEIOh9BehhQ7ZclumujvRgmWL25P6eNPhZiu8IGwL_4OGTJnC5ZAgOyA7na5KA&amp;__tn__=-]K-R\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Trojan Outreach<\/a> helped students think more positively about themselves. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Trojan Outreach spread awareness about the importance of self-esteem to college students. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe\u2019re talking about building self-esteem and having high confidence and you can do this through a lot of different tactics that we\u2019re talking about on our social media pages, and doing events in the Trojan Center,\u201d said Danielle Wormsby, a Trojan Outreach Peer Educator. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Wormsby said it\u2019s important to know yourself in order to interact with others in a positive way. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cOne of my favorite concepts is the self concept and that is how you perceive yourself in the beliefs that make you who you are,\u201d Wormsby said. \u201cIf those beliefs are negative, then you\u2019re not really interacting with the world as greatly and efficiently as you might want to, so having positive self talk and positive affirmations about yourself is important.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As students get further into the semester, they might start to have some self-doubt or not have enough energy to reassure themselves regularly. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThings happen and moods slip, so if you\u2019re feeling low on energy, of course, you can always check out the student counseling center,\u201d Wormsby encouraged. \u201cIt is free to any student that\u2019s enrolled in at least one credit hour.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cJust do something that you love, get out there, explore. This campus is full of opportunities for clubs and organizations you can join,\u201d Wormsby added. \u201cSometimes, just being around other people can be helpful for your own mental health.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In February, Trojan Outreach plans to raise awareness about sexual health and safety.
