(<a href=\"https:\/\/today.troy.edu\/trojanvision\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">TROJANVISION<\/a>) \u2014 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.troy.edu\/student-life-resources\/campus-media\/troy-public-radio\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Troy Public Radio<\/a> has debuted a new podcast called InChoir: Conversations about Choral music, the arts, and life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe idea was born from the need for us to truly connect with some of the great composers of choral music today,\u201d said Dr. Diane Orlofsky, TROY Professor Emerita of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.troy.edu\/academics\/academic-programs\/school-music-programs.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Music and Music Education<\/a>\u00a0and Graduate Coordinator\/Advisor for music education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Orlofsky and co-creator Dr. Scott Sexton, TROY alum and Assistant\u00a0Professor\u00a0of Music Education and\u00a0Director\u00a0of Choral Activities at Huntingdon, wanted to create a podcast so that everyone could appreciate the art of music<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe want to make it accessible for everybody,\u201d said Orlofsky. \u201cThe music is beautiful. We try to demystify what people are hearing, so we walk them through the kinds of things that they are going to be hearing.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The podcast aims to move away from traditional soundbites and into real conversation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe really take time to talk personally with composers and we do deep dives,&#8221; Orlofsky explained. &#8220;We listen to their pieces very carefully.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The podcast features guests such as Grammy award-winning composer Christopher Tin, and Pulitzer Prize finalist Scott Weidensaul.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Orlofsky explains that \u201cevery episode has a theme.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe explore that theme through the music of a particular composer.
