(<a href=\"https:\/\/www.troy.edu\/student-life-resources\/campus-media\/troy-trojanvision\/streaming.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">TROJANVISION<\/a>) \u2014 With Spring Break right around the corner, some students are already one step closer to being ready to hit the road. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.troy.edu\/student-life-resources\/student-resources\/campus-safety\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Troy University Police Department<\/a> (TUPD) and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jimwhaleytires.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Jim Whaley Tires<\/a> hosted their third annual vehicle check where students could get their vehicle looked at by technicians, all for free.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;We just want to make sure they got all their air checked,&#8221; said Store Manager Josh Everett. &#8220;If they have anything going on with their vehicle, we want to send them to a shop to let them get it checked out before they hit the road to see their family and vacation.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As technicians checked the cars, students connected with TUPD officers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/today.troy.edu\/trojanvision\/2024\/03\/07\/student-government-association-gives-spring-break-safety-tips\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">RELATED NEWS: Student Government Association gives Spring Break safety tips<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;Students will learn that the university police is not all about arresting but helping them we&#8217;re always here to help,&#8221; said Patrol Officer Johnathan McClure. &#8220;It feels great to know that like I said people only seeing the bad side of the police officers hopefully they can see that we&#8217;re not all bad guys there is good people out here to help.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Everett encourages every student to get their vehicle checked out before hitting the road. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;You have any lights, may sure to check your air pressure and see if your fluids are topped off,&#8221; Everett explained. &#8220;Always run by our shop to get a professional to look at it just to make sure everything is safe before getting on the road.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">TUPD works to hold car checks at least once a semester.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>TROY, Ala.
