(<a href=\"https:\/\/today.troy.edu\/trojanvision\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">TROJANVISION<\/a>) \u2014 The International Arts Center (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.troy.edu\/student-life-resources\/arts-culture\/international-arts-center\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">IAC<\/a>) is featuring the work of several local artists many students know by name: their professors and instructors. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Last week, TROY introduced a new exhibit for students to enjoy, with a twist. The work on display is all created by TROY faculty members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe do this every other year,&#8221; said Professor and Interim Department Chair Greg Skaggs. &#8220;It showcases our faculty and gives us a chance to show off a little.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Skaggs says it\u2019s important for professors to put into practice what they teach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/today.troy.edu\/trojanvision\/2024\/03\/22\/dog-sees-god-takes-dark-spin-on-classic-comic\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">KEEP READING: \u2018Dog Sees God\u2019 takes dark spin on classic comic<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s a great way for students to connect with their professors and to know that they\u2019re also working artists. They\u2019re not just teaching, but they\u2019re also makers.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The exhibit not only offers a variety of work for visitors to enjoy, but also gives a glimpse into what\u2019s going on in the art department.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cYou will definitely see a lot of playful things and how artists work and think,\u201d Skaggs told TrojanVision. \u201cI think it\u2019s a good indication of what\u2019s being taught in the classroom.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The pieces being showcased are open to all students and the community as a way to see another side of TROY faculty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The exhibit will be open in the IAC until April 14.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>TROY, Ala.
