Troy University students rolled up their sleeves to give the “Gift of Life” in memory of the life a Troy University student on Tuesday. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Minority Student Presidents Council played host to its inaugural Rashad McClaney Memorial blood drive. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The council hosts this blood drive every year but this is the first year they decided to dedicate it in honor of a student two years ago, Rashad McClaney, a student at Troy University who was killed the weekend of TROY’s homecoming.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The university worked with McClaney’s family to make the drive happen and plan to make it a permanent tribute. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
“I was ecstatic,” says Rashad’s mother Venesia McClaney. “Because activities like this in my son’s memory actually keeps him keeps him alive and we are honored.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
