TROY, Ala. (TROJANVISION<\/a>) \u2014 Troy University’s Greek organizations banded together to compete in this year’s Skit Night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the competition, members of the National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) and the Interfraternity Council (IFC) teamed up. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“It is an annual event competition between all of our different Greek organizations NPHC, IFC, PHC,” said Greek Week committee member Caleb Smith. “It is just a great way to band together as one Greek community and just to have friendly competition throughout the week.” <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Skit Night saw student organizations battle it out in a dance competition and showcase choreographed routines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We have a bunch of different diverse Greek chapters on campus, so it is just a great way to come together for a friendly competition of different things like dance, stroll, tailgate, food things like that,” Smith explained. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Student organizers said they look forward to this event every year and love the healthy competition that it brings to the student body.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I enjoy all of the events that we have going on this week,” said event coordinator Destyni\u00a0Peoples. “I enjoy seeing them each and every year. I graduated from here so I get to see them annually.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Skit Night is also a way for organizations to build relationships that showcase unity at the university.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“They have also been practicing for weeks on end, so I love seeing the different bonds that they have built with the different organizations that they are paired with for this week,” Peoples told TrojanVision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Greek Week is also a major fundraiser for TROY’s Greek organizations. Greek members say the money raised during the week will go to philanthropies around the the Troy and Pike County area.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
