(<a href=\"https:\/\/today.troy.edu\/trojanvision\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">TROJANVISION<\/a>) \u00a0\u2014 A new batch of high school students could be one step closer to a career in the music industry thanks to Troy University&#8217;s recent <a href=\"https:\/\/www.micchecktroyu.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">MIC Check<\/a> event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On Thursday and Friday, Troy University&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.troy.edu\/academics\/colleges-schools\/college-communication-fine-arts\/departments\/john-m-long-school-music\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">John M. Long School of Music<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.troy.edu\/academics\/colleges-schools\/business\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Sorrell College of Business<\/a> held its MIC Check event for high school and college students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;MIC Check is Troy University&#8217;s Music Industry Program,&#8221; said Brenda Hamilton, a lecturer for the John M Long School of Music. &#8220;It&#8217;s a festival for music and industry business all tied into one.&#8221; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/today.troy.edu\/trojanvision\/2024\/04\/02\/symphony-band-performs-alongside-world-renowned-boston-brass\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">RELATED NEWS: Symphony Band performs alongside world-renowned Boston Brass<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Throughout the two-day event, masterclass workshops and performances were held in which an instructor would critique the students for a hands-on learning approach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Romano Law and David Wise, a vocal arranger and producer, held business, production and music clinics to give patrons an inside look on the music industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>MIC Check is an annual event held every April.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For more information on the event, check out the Troy University MIC Check <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/troyuniversitymiccheck\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Facebook<\/a> page and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.micchecktroyu.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">website<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>TROY, Ala.
