(<a href=\"https:\/\/today.troy.edu\/trojanvision\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">TROJANVISION<\/a>) \u2014 High school students from various backgrounds have been brought together to learn more about leadership.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Students participated in TROY&#8217;s Trojan Patriot Academy, which marked the program&#8217;s inaugural session. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Throughout the week students participate in sessions that address various parts of being a leader. Participants also heard from TROY professors who used their personal experiences to help students learn about real-life leadership lessons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Trojan Patriot Academy is a way to bring young high school students to our campus to learn about leadership and civic engagement,&#8221; Trojan Patriot Academy speaker Dr. Dee Bennett explained.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/today.troy.edu\/trojanvision\/2024\/06\/18\/trojan-patriot-academy-holds-inaugural-session\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>RELATED NEWS: <\/strong>Trojan Patriot Academy holds inaugural session<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One session called &#8220;Global Passports,&#8221; aimed to help students understand what leadership looks like around the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">While on campus, students earned their &#8220;global passports,&#8221; which were based on the letters of T-R-O-Y. Each letter served as a critical piece of the leadership puzzle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;T was about traditions, where do my traditions come from,&#8221; explained Dr. Duane Gunn, a Trojan Academy speaker. &#8220;The &#8216;R&#8217; is about respect. Then the &#8216;O&#8217; is about the optics. &#8216;Y&#8217; is about the communications piece, the social media.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"3616\" height=\"1864\" src=\"https:\/\/today.troy.edu\/trojanvision\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2024\/06\/imresizer-1718726242879.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-6202\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Trojan Patriot Academy is a joint venture between Troy University and the American Village Citizenship Trust.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>TROY, Ala.
