(<a href=\"https:\/\/today.troy.edu\/trojanvision\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">TROJANVISION<\/a>) \u2014 The Troy University <a href=\"https:\/\/www.troy.edu\/academics\/colleges-schools\/college-arts-sciences\/departments\/history-philosophy-department\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Department of History and Philosophy<\/a> partnered with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/troyhistoryclub\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">History Club<\/a> to host an Open House. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The event allowed students, new and returning, to learn more about what is offered in the history department and the History Club.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;I joined history club because I love history and I wanted to discuss it with like-minded peers,&#8221; said Matilda Ziegler, Vice President of the History Club. &#8220;History is not something that a lot of people are not necessarily interested in, and that&#8217;s something we&#8217;re trying to change. But it provides a space for those of us who are interested in the subject to discuss it with one another.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/today.troy.edu\/trojanvision\/2024\/08\/30\/troy-universitys-shuttle-services-explained\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>NEWS YOU CAN USE: <\/strong>Troy University\u2019s shuttle services explained<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During the open house students met current members of the club as well as professors in the history department. They also learned more about what the club has to offer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;We have a lot of different events, just history-related events, we do a lot of movie nights, some trivia, we do a lot of study sessions for upper-level history courses,&#8221; Ziegler explained.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you are interested in the History Club, announcements about meetings are on the club&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/troyhistoryclub?utm_source=ig_web_button_share_sheet&amp;igsh=ZDNlZDc0MzIxNw==\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Instagram<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;Drop by a meeting if you&#8217;re at all interested,&#8221; Ziegler said. &#8220;There&#8217;s no time commitment or requirement. You can go to as many or as few meetings as you like.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Troy History Club usually meets on Wednesdays.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Troy, Ala.
