Instead, they are using social media.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Honestly, I just watch TikTok,&#8221; said student Zoey Williams. &#8220;News about the election is always on my &#8216;for you page&#8217;,&#8221; said student Zoey Williams.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;I get my news off of Facebook,&#8221; said student Aliska Hampton.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/today.troy.edu\/trojanvision\/2024\/09\/06\/students-share-thoughts-concerns-ahead-of-presidential-election\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>KEEP READING: <\/strong>Students share thoughts, concerns ahead of presidential election<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Although some students are turning to social media for their information about the election, the Office of Civic Engagement encourages students to follow unbiased sources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;I would recommend that students go get their information from a variety of sources,&#8221; said Civic Scholar Matilda Ziegler. &#8220;Understanding both sides of the aisle is important. Students should get all sides of an issue and form their own opinion.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Voting is a constitutional right that all students are encouraged to take advantage of. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.troy.edu\/academics\/academic-resources\/center-student-success\/office-of-civic-engagement\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Office of Civic Engagement<\/a> hopes all students will cast a vote in November.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s important for students to vote because their voice is so valuable,&#8221; said Lauren Cochran, Coordinator of the Office of Civic Engagement. &#8220;If we don&#8217;t hear that voice, there&#8217;s a great section of our population that&#8217;s not represented.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.isidewith.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>FOR YOU:<\/strong> 2024 Presidential Quiz; see which Presidential candidates match your personal\u00a0beliefs<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Experts say staying informed and exercising your right to vote are important parts of participating in any election.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>TROY, Ala.
