Troy, Ala. (TROJANVISION<\/a>) \u2013 Troy student entrepreneurs now have a space to show off their work thanks to downtown Troy’s Student-Made Store<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt\u2019s actually a third party partnership. Student-Made Stores is a company that creates these platforms for students and works with campuses to execute an e-commerce opportunity for student creators,\u201d said Lynne George, Director of Troy University\u2019s IDEA Bank.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a great space for student entrepreneurs to come and have a workspace and to be able to put their stuff in the store,\u201d said Jessica Roberts, a Creator and manager at Student-Made.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Student-Made Store was originally founded by Ryan McElhinney and Lyndsey Reeth<\/a>. They have opened fourteen other online stores for colleges across the nation. Troy has the first-ever brick-and-mortar Student-Made store.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt was a new thing for them, it was a new thing for us,\u201d said George. \u201cWe just started working together in January of this year and after several months of planning we were able to cut the ribbon today.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Not only are the products made by students, but the store itself is fully run by students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAll of the products are student made but also the entire operation of the store is run by students,” George told TrojanVision. “There are seven student manager positions.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Roberts encourages students who are interested in selling products with Student-Made to reach out and try it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt really is fun and it\u2019s a great community and everybody just loves being together,” Roberts said. “Definitely, if you\u2019re considering it, do it. It\u2019s a great experience and opportunity.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
