TROY, Ala. (TROJANVISION<\/a>) \u2014 Fairytales with a twist: that’s the theme of this semester’s Art in Motion dance performance put on by theatre and dance<\/a> students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Although fairytales are not a new idea, students found a way to bring new life to the traditional stories.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Fairytales but like how can we put a spin on it, how can we twist the tales to make them something no one’s ever seen before,” explained co-director and dancer Libby Wiley.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Coming up with the idea was just the first step for the production team, which consisted of just four students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“It’s been a major process of trial and error because we are such a small group so it’s a lot of give and take,” co-director and dancer Jasmin Aranda said. “It was it was very difficult to come off as the perfect production team.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite those obstacles, the production team and the dancers were able to create something they say they are extremely proud of and excited for the students to see.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“It is the epitome of passion and hard work, everything that will be seen on stage is student lead and that is just an incredible opportunity and I think it’s really special to see,” said dancer Carsyn Harris. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This performance is not just for the students but one that is special and personal to the dancers themselves. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“It’s meant a lot to me, especially with Carsyn being her last performance here, I wanted it to be special not just for her but for all the seniors and I really just wanted to give them a really good last aim,” Aranda said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Art in Motion was the reason that I came to Troy,” Harris told TrojanVision. “This is a little bit different for me because this is my last step here before I step out into the professional world.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
