TROY, Ala. (TROJANVISION<\/a>) \u2014 After six long years of glory against the South Alabama Jaguars<\/a>, Troy Football<\/a> fell to the Jaguars during Tuesday night’s Battle for the Belt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Trojans lost the game by a score of 25-10.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I thought the first drive went well,” said Matthew Caldwell<\/a>, one of the three Trojan quarterbacks that has seen action this season. “Point blank period, I just sucked for the rest of the game.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Although the Trojans struggled offensively, with both quarterbacks throwing interceptions, the Trojan defense played its best game yet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Coming into this game we knew that we had to contain the quarterback and if we did that it would make the game a lot easier,” said Kam Curry<\/a>, a defensive tackle for the men of Troy. “The game plan we had was good we just had to execute.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Trojans are back in action Saturday, Oct. 26 when they head to Jonesboro, Arkansas to take on the Arkansas State Red Wolves<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We’ll get better this better this week, try to keep some of those points down, and do what we can do,” Curry said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Keep in mind the Trojans are dealing with a plethora of injuries including starting quarterback Goose Crowder<\/a> and defensive lineman Luis Medina<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
