TROY, Ala. (TROJANVISION<\/a>) \u2014 Troy Volleyball<\/a> battled the Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns Friday night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Trojans showed a great defense all night. In the first set, the Trojans hit a total of 16-4-33, putting the Trojans in the lead. During the second set Troy’s offense wasn’t as clean, but the Trojans did secure a win 14-6-64.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Ragin’ Cajuns kicks off the third set with their best offense yet, but it wasn’t enough to hold the trojans back. Troy recorded 57 swings, nine more kills than Louisiana. The Ragin’ Cajuns was in the led, until the Trojans came back. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Louisiana answered with two straight points to jump back in the lead. Although originally trailing, 23-22 the Trojans were saved by a pair of kills from Amiah Bulter and secured the victory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We prepared really, really well all week and even in serve and pass today, and really came out with great pressure, and some consistent play,” said Head Coach Josh Lauer<\/a>. “Our serving was really on point tonight, and so I think we put a lot of servers pressure, on them we could have had a out of system situations and that was apart of our game-plan and so we were able to execute that, which was really impactful.” <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tori Hester<\/a> also made history by becoming the fourth play in program history with 1,500 kills, and 1,000 digs. Hester also extends her double-digit kill streak to 39 matches, which is the longest active streak in Division Women’s Volleyball.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We’ve focused on having more fun tonight, and playing together and like just going all out effort but mainly having fun,” Hester said. “That’s when we play the best volleyball.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“As long as for us we are swinging high, then we usually are in good shape, you know as soon as our swings start to get a little bit lower then, we bring some thing into play that we don’t wont to bring into play,” Lauer said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With this win the Trojans move to 17-13 all time against Louisiana.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
