(<a href=\"https:\/\/today.troy.edu\/trojanvision\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">TROJANVISION<\/a>) \u2014 With October being <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nationalbreastcancer.org\/breast-cancer-awareness-month\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Breast Cancer Awareness Month<\/a>, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.troy.edu\/academics\/academic-resources\/center-student-success\/trio-programs\/student-support-services\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Student Support Services<\/a> (Trio) decided to raise awareness and support for those with the disease via sweet treats.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Trio held a bake sale where every treat that was sold helps support breast cancer patients and research.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;We decided to set up a table to support breast cancer awareness, and we decided what other way than sell some good old sweet treats to raise awareness for breast cancer,&#8221; freshman and Trio member Tyshaun Caldwell said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/today.troy.edu\/trojanvision\/2024\/10\/17\/city-of-troy-honors-breast-cancer-survivors\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>RELATED NEWS: City of Troy honors breast cancer survivors<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With each sold cookie, brownie and candy more money was dedicated to breast cancer awareness. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Troy faithful showed up paying with either cash, Venmo, or Cash App to show their support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;I think our busiest hour was during the rush hour which was around 12 o&#8217;clock and people have just been coming and supporting us and buying items to support the cause,&#8221; explained Caldwell.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The bake sale ended Thursday at 3 p.m., however, students can still donate to breast cancer research by visiting <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bcrf.org\/\">www.bcrf.org<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>TROY, Ala.
