TROY, Ala. (TROJANVISION<\/a>) \u2014 The University Activities Council<\/a> (UAC) hosted over a hundred students during its recent pumpkin painting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We bought around 300 pumpkins and all of them were gone,” said Tayjo Oppong. “There are still people that are asking for some so it’s really a good feeling because we put a lot of effort into organizing these events so it’s really great when we see a big turnout like this.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Oppong believes events like these are important for students to experience in their time here at Troy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We host these events so that students get a chance to not only find a break in between school because stresses you a lot, but it gives them a chance to form a deeper connection with the university they attend.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Freshman Noah Russel has been taking advantage of as many opportunities as he can.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I’m a part of Freshman Forum<\/a> and it gets me involved on campus,” Russel said. “It’s really fun and I’ve met a lot of new people so I’ve got my name out on campus and that’s all I can really ask for. I think everyone should get involved and make their time here at Troy memorable and something they won’t regret or forget.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Out of the nearly 300 pumpkins painted during the event, Russell says there were some standout designs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“One girl painted like a bunch of hearts and stuff around it and there have been a couple just like Troy themed pumpkins; someone even did T-Roy which is pretty cool.” <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Of course this event isn’t the only one students get to enjoy this fall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Upcoming ones would be Oktoberfest that’s going to be on Saturday from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the square. There’s also going to be a casino night which is happening next week.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Although though students are now in the second half of the semester there is no shortage of time or opportunity for involvement.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
