(<a href=\"https:\/\/today.troy.edu\/trojanvision\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">TROJANVISION<\/a>) \u2014 <a href=\"https:\/\/troytrojans.com\/sports\/womens-basketball\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Troy Women&#8217;s Basketball <\/a>is welcoming a new player who traveled across the ocean to be in Trojan Territory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Those challenges can be especially hard for international player in sports. <a href=\"https:\/\/troytrojans.com\/sports\/womens-basketball\/roster\/ashley-baez\/11030\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Ashley Baez<\/a>, a senior guard, transferred to Troy University from Florida Gulf Coast University. During her time at her previous school, Baez averaged 4.1 points, 0.9 rebounds, 0.4 assists. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Baez looks to add scrappy defensive play to an already revitalized roster. She says her biggest adjustment since coming to Troy has been the pace of play. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;I feel like I have to pick up things a lot more quickly here,&#8221; Baez said. &#8220;The game is so much more faster pace so I feel as if I have to react quicker&#8221;. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/today.troy.edu\/trojanvision\/2024\/10\/31\/mens-basketball-team-talks-high-expectations-heading-into-new-season\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>NEWS FOR YOU: Men\u2019s basketball team talks high expectations heading into new season<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Baez says her primary motivation for coming to America to play ball was her parents. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;I would say my personal motivation was my parents. Them pushing me for being the best player I can be motivates me every day.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Baez says one of her goals for the upcoming season is to win a championship and make an all conference selection to a Sunbelt Conference team.
