TROY, Ala. (TROJANVISION<\/a>) \u2014\u00a0We’ve reached that part in the year where people are either preparing for Thanksgiving or decorating their Christmas Tree.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In downtown Troy there seems to be mixed feelings among local businesses on whether to keep their fall decorations up or bring out their Christmas trees. Momma Goldberg’s<\/a> keeps the fall vibes going.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We got our windows painted by the KD [Kappa Delta] girls,” said Kaylin Cichocki, assistant manager at Momma Goldberg’s Deli. “We paid them to come paint our windows. I also feel like since I’m a student myself and the fact that we have two different breaks. I like to keep them separate because If I decorated for Christmas I would think that finals are tomorrow.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Pink Parlor<\/a> starts decorating for Christmas as homecoming approaches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“People start shopping earlier and earlier every year and one thing we’ve seen talking with our customers is that their even putting up their Christmas decorations,” said Caitlin Calyson, store manger at The Pink Parlor. “All that decor we have that is Christmas-related is starting to go out the door earlier and earlier.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The question still stands: after Halloween, is it time to bring out the dishes and turkeys or sprinkle some snowflakes and Santa Clauses? <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Team Christmas after Thanksgiving,” Cichocki said. “My house is decorated in fall decor right now. I just feel like Thanksgiving can’t get skipped over. It’s one of my favorite holidays. I love to eat and growing up my mom did not let us put up the Christmas tree until December 1st.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I definitely love all the Christmas all of the sparkle, bright colors happiness that comes with Christmas,” Calyson told TrojanVision. “I will admit, to me, Christmas is a season, Thanksgiving is a day.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Whether your team Christmas before Thanksgiving or after, local businesses hope everyone you choose to shop local this holiday season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
