TROY, Ala. (TROJANVISION) \u2014 The Pike Piddlers Storytelling Festival is an annual event held on Troy University’s campus. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
After hosting stories with a meal Friday night in Brundidge, Saturday the storytellers held three shows in the Trojan Center Theater.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Kathie Sneed, who volunteers to help with the festival each year, said, “It’s the last Friday and Saturday in January every year. We usually have four professional storytellers.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The annual festival has become a popular tradition for some Pike County residents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“We have been doing this for almost twenty years, and so many of our devotees have been coming every year for all these twenty years,” said Sneed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
With the theater packed and the audience ready, storytellers Andy Irwin, Kevin Kling, and Kim Weitkamp told different stories for all three sessions. They also encouraged new timers to come back for more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“It’s so much fun if you’ve never been. It’s really fun. People that have never been are always really surprised and love it and come back the next year,” Sneed told TrojanVision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
