TROY, Ala. (TROJANVIS<\/a>I<\/a>ON<\/a>) \u2014 A Troy University sorority president is balancing school, work, sorority life, and challenging disease.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Troy University is home to many different leaders and role models. Sorority chapter president Nevaeh White is one of them. White was diagnosed with lupus when she was a sophomore in high school.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Around that time I had gotten very sick, and a lot of different medical things were going on with me, and I was visiting a number of doctors that could not really find anything wrong with me,” White told TrojanVision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nevaeh’s daily battle with lupus is not easy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I have to travel for treatment away from Troy. I have to watch what I eat. I can’t just eat a normal college student diet. I have to make sure that I remain active.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

White’s friends describe her as a role model.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“One thing that I like about Nevaeh is she is not scared to share the things that she has gone through,” said sorority advisor Jade Blocker. “On her TikTok, on her Instagram platforms, she is always talking about her struggles and how she overcomes those struggles.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite having to deal with her own challenges, White’s friends say she is always willing to help others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Nevaeh is a sweet kind soul,” said Jakevia Williams. “She is very bubbly, and she is willing to help at any given moment.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
