(<a href=\"https:\/\/today.troy.edu\/trojanvision\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">TROJANVISION<\/a>) \u2014 A major roadway that runs through Troy is undergoing major construction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Previously, US-231 through Troy left drivers navigating roads with little to no separation between northbound and southbound traffic. Right now, the <a href=\"https:\/\/aldotnews.com\/2024\/11\/26\/aldot-beginning-access-management-project-on-us-231-in-troy\/\">Access Managemen<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/aldotnews.com\/2024\/11\/26\/aldot-beginning-access-management-project-on-us-231-in-troy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">t Project<\/a> is working to make that busy road safer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe had an abundance of traffic accidents, and they felt like this would help alleviate that,\u201d said Troy Police Department Officer Matt Raiti.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>New medians are being added to prevent drivers from making dangerous turns. In addition, U-Turn bulbs are being added along the road. Those U-Turn bulbs will be installed at:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Southbound between Lakeside Drive and Elba Highway<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Southbound at Lakeside Drive<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Southbound after Trojan Parkway<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Northbound between Dozier Drive and S. Franklin Drive<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Northbound between S. Franklin Drive and Emma Drive<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>One downfall of the project? Drivers will have to endure construction during the day and night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/today.troy.edu\/trojanvision\/2025\/04\/23\/pike-county-dog-tests-positive-for-rabies\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>LOCAL NEWS: Pike County dog tests positive for rabies; here&#8217;s what pet owners need to know<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cDrivers can expect to see concrete medians being constructed during the day and paving at night, and there will continue to be periodic line closures throughout the project,\u201d Meadows told TrojanVision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since the construction has begun, the number one question on drivers&#8217; minds is when it will be over.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe project may be on track to be completed this summer,\u201d Meadows said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As crews continue working, ALDOT urges drivers to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Follow the posted speed limit<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Don&#8217;t drive distracted<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Maintain a safe travel distance<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Photos of the access management project can be found on ALDOT&#8217;s website. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>TROY, Ala.
