TROY, Ala. (TROJANVISION<\/a>) \u2014 Day three of the Trojan Patriot Academy saw students learning about leadership with both familiar and unfamiliar faces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Students broke into groups where they learned about different aspects of leadership from members of TROY’s faculty and guests from Constituting America<\/a> and the Congressional Medal of Honor Foundation<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I think putting yourself out there and talking to people is very important, making new connections,” said Trojan Patriot Academy attendee Gray Hardy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While in groups, student learned valuable communication skills and how to use their strengths and weaknesses to become better leaders. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

TROJAN PATRIOT ACADEMY: Trojan Patriot Academy draws over 100 high school students to campus<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We did a few groups with Dr. [Ellis] Bush,” Hardy explained. “We got to talk about our weaknesses with each other and our strengths and it helped us better understand and connect with each other.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Students not only learned how to be better leaders, but also how to lead by example. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Leadership isn’t about the titles or authority,” said another attendee, Criselda Reyes. “It’s about taking responsibility and taking action and stuff when it’s time to.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After their time at Troy University, the students will visit the Alabama State House before going to Montevallo for their presentations at the American Village.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
