TROY, Ala. (TROJANVISION<\/a>) \u2014 Incoming freshmen students are getting their first look at all of the organizations Troy University has to offer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Once freshmen and transfer students progress through IMPACT New Student Orientation<\/a>, and wrap up beginning icebreakers, IMPACT leaders then take their groups to the Trojan Center ballroom where different clubs from all over the campus are ready to recruit new members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We encourage that all freshmen say yes to everything and go and talk to as many clubs as they can. It’s one of the best ways to enjoy your time here at Troy,” said IMPACT leader Anna Cate Potts. “There’s over 200 organizations for people to join.” <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Students organizations included Troy’s fraternities and sororities, the Sound of the South, the Army ROTC program, student media, and various student-created groups.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Study abroad<\/a> director Sarah McKenzie said she uses the browse sessions to spread the word about her program. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I use the browse session by talking to students and parents and just try to tell them all about study abroad. It’s kind of a nutshell overview of study abroad, and then I encourage them to come see me so that I can give them all the information.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Browse sessions are held on the first day of students’ IMPACT sessions. Another browse session is usually held in the fall. That session is open to all students regardless of classification.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
