TROY, Ala. (TROJANVISION<\/a>) \u2014 Not everyone knows that Troy has a space for students with small business to sell their products.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Student-Made Troy<\/a> launched in the fall of 2024 and offers a storefront that features goods made by Troy students. Jamarion Willie-Hughes, sophomore electrical engineering major, is one of those students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Willie-Hughes grew up playing basketball and\u00a0says he\u2019s always had an entrepreneurial spirit. During the COVID-19 pandemic, his mother inspired him to start his own business called \u201cA Baller from The Ville.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cA baller from the ville\u201d means to never forget where you come from,” Willie-Hughes said. “I look up to my mom. She\u2019s a full-time cleaning business owner. I was inspired by her in 2020, and I decided to take my own steps and create my own brand from it.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Willie-Hughes’ new and reformed clothing brand, a segment of \u201cA Baller From The Ville, is called KORE. The name might be different, but the goal is still the same. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI decided to change my brand,” Willie-Hughes said. “It\u2019s still tailored to my mission and my vision to never forget where you come from. Kore brings the authenticity out, it’s about staying true to your origins. That\u2019s what Kore means to me, and I feel like everyone should know that.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
