TROY, Ala. (TROJANVISION<\/a>) \u2014 When\u00a0you\u2019re\u00a0ordering a coffee, you have a lot of options, types of milk, whipped topping,\u00a0how much sugar but what\u00a0you\u00a0don\u2019t\u00a0get the option of is the price.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Adam Vinson is the owner of Fuse Coffee<\/a>, a local shop located on Troy’s downtown square. He said not only has the price of coffee increased, the beans themselves are not the only ingredients to go up in cost. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMilk has went up, butter, sugar, you know all the stuff that I use here. If it was just coffee going up, I would be fine. It\u2019s everything else that has went up with it as well.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite the\u00a0rise in costs,\u00a0Vinson\u00a0said his\u00a0customers\u00a0have not been forced to dig deeper into their pockets.\u00a0The\u00a0reason why\u00a0is simple.\u00a0\u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe love of the game baby. People don’t want to pay 15 dollars for a cup of black coffee; I don\u2019t know how I could even possibly do that.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

But\u00a0if\u00a0customers are not paying more, that means\u00a0the\u00a0bumped-up\u00a0cost of\u00a0ingredients\u00a0has\u00a0to come out of\u00a0Vinson\u2019s own paycheck.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYou learn how to be poor. You don\u2019t go out to the movies every Friday or go out to dinner three times a week. No, me and my kids, we make dinner at home, and we watch movies on TV, you know. We live a very simple lifestyle.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vinson said the sacrifice is one he\u00a0is willing to make\u00a0in order to\u00a0better support his community.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI\u2019ve grown up within basically thirty minutes of Troy, I live close to downtown, we\u2019re part of the community. So, I don\u2019t know, maybe it\u2019s the way I was raised; you have to give back, you have to do your part. I feel like that\u2019s kind of my part, kind of easing that monetary burden.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Looking forward,\u00a0Vinson\u00a0does not know how long\u00a0he will be able to protect his customers from increased costs,\u00a0but\u00a0he hopes\u00a0any changes\u00a0will\u00a0be marginal.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
