(<a href=\"https:\/\/today.troy.edu\/trojanvision\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">TROJANVISION<\/a>) \u2014 Roses are red, chocolate is sweet, which one is Troy students favorite Valentine&#8217;s Day treat? <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is the season of love and everyone is scrambling to find the perfect gift. It begs the question, though, what is the number one Valentine&#8217;s Day gift? <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Each year two presents battle it out for the top spot: chocolate versus flowers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;I prefer to receive chocolates, because I can eat them and I just love food so much,&#8221; student Keeley Bulman said. &#8220;While flowers are really pretty, they&#8217;re super temporary.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;I really like roses,&#8221; student Elijah Brooks countered. &#8220;It&#8217;s just very symbolic and it&#8217;s sweet. It&#8217;s a sweet thing to do, because you can keep them forever if you dry them out.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/today.troy.edu\/trojanvision\/2026\/02\/04\/arboretums-rainbow-bridge-aims-to-help-pet-owners-honor-deceased-pets\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>FEATURE NEWS: Arboretum\u2019s \u2018Rainbow Bridge\u2019 aims to help pet owners honor deceased pets<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;I love flowers, so whenever somebody gives me flowers, I dry them and hang them in the wall,&#8221; student Shreeya Sinjali said. &#8220;It can stay forever.&#8221;\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Students voted on which gift they would like to receive and why.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;I&#8217;d probably take some chocolate,&#8221; student Ryan Mays said. &#8220;I don&#8217;t really got no use for flowers. It&#8217;s a nice gesture, but I&#8217;ll eat the chocolate, so I&#8217;ll take some chocolate.&#8221;\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;As a guy you never really receive flowers, so I&#8217;ve never really gotten flowers,&#8221; Noah Maddox said. &#8220;It&#8217;d be nice.&#8221;\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It seems the gift giving battle continues!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>TROY, Ala.
