TROY, Ala. (TROJANVISION<\/a>) \u2014 Alpha Omicron Pi is fighting against arthritis one piece of clothing at a time thanks to its annual Shop Out Arthritis event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event was part of the sorority’s larger philanthropy week that raises awareness and money for a cause of the sorority’s choosing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“All the sororities will donate their clothes and pick a price,” said Juliette Green, Director of Philanthropy for \u0391OII. “If someone buys something that’s ten dollars, they’ll get five dollars and we get five dollars so that all proceeds go to the juvenile arthritis foundation.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We have a lot of different types of clothes,” said Hannah Cox, a sister of AOII. “There’s a lot of athletic clothes and then there’s formal clothes and recruitment as well.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For some sisters, Juvenile Arthritis is an issue that hits close to home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“My sister actually has juvenile arthritis, so this cause means a lot to me,” explained Cox. “Juvenile arthritis foundation is a really great cause to give to, and who doesn’t like to shop? It’s a great way to get everybody involved.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I think it impacted me more when I met people my own age that had arthritis and how that affected them and their childhood growing up,” said Maddie Osborne, President of AOII.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
