TROY, Ala. (TROJANVISION<\/a>) \u2014 Troy University is currently home to three separate Miss Troys. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Miss Troy Pageant has long been a campus tradition. Each year, judges select the student who they believe embodies the true Trojan spirit. The queen will go on to represent the university both on campus and at the Miss Alabama competition. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The reigning Miss Troy Anna Grace Tucker<\/a>, Grace Shellhouse<\/a> (2025) and Sarah Jane Houston<\/a> (2024) all remain on Troy’s campus. Although each woman won in a different year, they all say the bond created through the title connects them long after the pageant ends.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cTo hold this title as Miss Troy, with the former Miss Troys here, it really means success in the sisterhood,\u201d Tucker said. \u201cBeing able to continue the legacy and go to Miss Alabama as Miss Troy \u2014 not only representing the university but also the community here as well.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Shellhouse says winning the title was a moment she still reflects on today. Looking back at the experience, she describes it as a blessing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI\u2019m really blessed that Christ has given me this opportunity to share a slice with the kingdom,\u201d Shellhouse said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For Houston, winning the crown as a sophomore was an ambitious goal she set for herself early in her college career. She says that determination continues to shape her life today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt was a very ambitious goal for me to want to win as a sophomore,\u201d Houston said. \u201cI\u2019ve always believed in the sentiment to not let people look down on you because you are young, and that sentiment has carried through so many facets of my life.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beyond the pageant stage, the three women also share another connection \u2014 they were all members of Troy University\u2019s Sound of the South dance line.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cDanceline!\u201d Tucker joked when asked what the three had in common, prompting laughter from the group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Houston believes that connection may have started a trend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI think it started with me, and then it trickled down the line,\u201d Houston said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Shellhouse added that the pattern could continue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYeah \u2014 maybe four years in a row,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The women told TrojanVision they have created a lasting sisterhood \u2014 one built through leadership, service, and representing Troy University both on and off the stage.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
