One of Governor Kay Ivey’s mobile COVID-19 vaccination clinics was in action Thursday in the city of Troy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Alabama National Guard helped facilitate the distribution of vaccines to residents who wanted to the get the shot. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Guard set up in the Troy Recreation Center as a part of Governor Ivey’s effort to get the vaccine out to communities in need across the state. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
With the recent expansion of the vaccine distribution more people were eligible to get the vaccine at the Troy mobile clinic. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
“We have partnered with the Alabama Department of Health to go around to 24 different counties,” says National Guard COVID Response Nurse Jamie Braden. “We started this about three weeks ago. We’ve been trying to vaccinate as many people as possible to kind of increase herd immunity and try to prevent as much illness as possible among the Alabama population.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
