Troy baseball hosts media day ahead of new season

TROY, Ala. (TROJANVISION) — Troy baseball previewed its 2025 season in front of the media on January 30.

Troy’s baseball season is fast approaching, and the Trojans plan to use their Top 25 ranking as motivation.

Head Coach Skylar Meade said this concerning the team’s ranking, “You know we’ll use it in our own way in the confines of our own meeting room and locker room as something to motivate us in the proper way rather than it being something that means we have accomplished anything going into 2025.”

Another motivating tool for the Trojans is regrouping after missing the postseason tournament last year.

“As we told our team when we didn’t make the show there at the end of May last year, this won’t happen again, and so here’s what we’ll slightly alter and change,” Meade said.

With their head coach’s confidence, the team is ready to rally behind him.

“We get to come to the field. Skyler is there every day, more enthusiastic than all of us,” Infielder Blake Cavill said. “He probably works harder out on the field than all of us every day, which is great to have him as our role model and leader.”

The Trojans made it clear that they only have one goal this year.

“Win, win, win,” Cavill told TrojanVision. “We’re here to win. We are going to win everything. That is all we care about. Just win.”

With the first game just a swing away, Troy hopes this season is a home run.
