Graduating seniors and designers debut work during Spring Thesis showcase

TROY, Ala. (TROJANVISION) — The Spring Thesis exhibit is on display at the International Arts Center (IAC) for the summer.

“In the fall and the spring, we have a thesis exhibit, and this shows the work of our graduating thesis students from the Department of Art and Design,” said IAC curator Carrie Jaxon.

The student-created exhibit includes short films, advertising, and board games by graduating seniors. However, graduating students aren’t the only ones displaying their art.

“When we have some space, as we did this semester, we are able to display some of the artwork that was done in other classes by other grade levels,” Jaxon explained. “It allows visitors to not only see our thesis and the graduating final projects but also to see some work of students that was done along the way.”

The IAC wants to make sure the public has plenty of time to see the exhibit, which is why it will be open until Sep. 3.

“The International Arts Center, we are very proud to showcase the artwork that our students have produced, and I think it’s evident that they have wonderful background of their classes and their course of study,” Jaxon explained. “We have a fantastic faculty and I think this is just a product of a wonderful university, wonderful faculty and the dedication of the students.”

If you want to see the student thesis exhibition, the IAC is open Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
